Dayton REALTORS® is upgrading to the new SentriGuard® lockbox system, and it's a major step forward in access technology. The updated SentriGuard® lockbox is designed to help you work smarter, faster, and deliver better outcomes across the board.

What’s Changing?

We’re introducing smarter, stronger lockboxes and a more streamlined experience for agents and clients alike:

  • As part of this upgrade, lockboxes will now be owned by agents, not Dayton REALTORS®.

If you intend to use electronic lockboxes, you’ll need to obtain them through the upcoming distribution event, or from the Dayton REALTORS® office at a later time.

Pre-Upgrade Communication

Clear guidance on what’s changing, what’s staying the same, and how to prepare. Be on the lookout for communications and reminders from Dayton REALTORS® for all the details.

Lockbox Collection: October 13th to October 31st

  • SentriLock and Dayton REALTORS® will partner to collect the old SentriLock lockboxes from Brokers and Agents.
  • Lockboxes may be turned in at your broker's office or Dayton REALTORS®.
  • For specific offices where lockbox quantities are high, SentriLock and Dayton will work directly with the office on a pickup. Those impacted by this will receive a separate communication from Dayton REALTORS®.

New SentriGuard Upgrade Event: November 3rd to November 7th

  • SentriLock will be on site at the Dayton REALTORS® office to distribute and train on how to use the SentriGuard lockbox. Join us for a hands-on walkthrough of the new SentriGuard® system, with trainers and direct access to our team.
  • Plan between 45-60 minutes to check in, receive training, and pick up your new lockboxes.
  • You can purchase up to 5 SentriGuard® lockboxes for $20 per lockbox. You may purchase additional lockboxes at the full price after that.

Why is Dayton REALTORS® upgrading to SentriGuard®?

The SentriGuard® system offers enhanced security, faster access, and a more reliable experience for agents and clients. It’s part of our commitment to providing best-in-class tools for your business.

What if I don’t want to use electronic lockboxes?

Using electronic lockboxes is optional. However, with the upgrade to SentriGuard®, lockboxes are now agent-owned. If you choose not to use a lockbox now but decide to in the future, you’ll need to purchase them directly through the Dayton REALTORS® office.

Who owns the new lockboxes?

With this upgrade, lockboxes will be owned by individual agents. This gives agents more flexibility and control over their listings.

How do I get my new lockboxes?

You can obtain your new SentriGuard® lockboxes during the distribution event (November 3rd through the 7th ) or from the Dayton REALTORS® office afterward.

How many lockboxes can I purchase at the discounted rate?

Each agent may purchase up to 5 lockboxes at $20 each during the upgrade event. Additional lockboxes can be purchased at full price after the upgrade event.

What do I do with my old lockboxes?

Old SentriLock lockboxes should be turned in to your broker’s office between October 13 and October 31. Brokers will then deliver them to Dayton REALTORS® for recycling.

Can I keep using my old lockboxes?

No - the old lockboxes will be phased out as part of the upgrade. All agents using electronic lockboxes will need to transition to SentriGuard®.

What if I miss the upgrade event?

You can still pick up and purchase lockboxes from the Dayton REALTORS® office after the event. Training resources will also be available online.

Will training be provided?

Yes! Hands-on training will be available during the upgrade event. You’ll learn how to use the new lockboxes and get answers to any questions.

How long will the upgrade process take?

Plan for 45 minutes during the event to check in, receive training, and pick up your lockboxes.

Can I reserve my lockboxes in advance?

Yes — you can reserve your 5 discounted lockboxes by completing this form.

What do I do with my current SentriLock box that is on an Active or Pending listing?
Leave the current lockbox on the property until the week of November 3rd when distribution of the new SentriGuard lockboxes begins. During that week, come to the pickup event and grab your lockboxes (up to a maximum of 5) and then replace the old box with the new box on the property and update your showing instructions as appropriate. 
 
When will my current SentriLock lockboxes stop working?
All current lockbox inventory will be deactivated on Monday, November 17th, 2025 at 9:00am ET. Please make sure you have removed the old lockboxes from any properties and removed the keys from the keybins by that date/time.
